S.O.S

Sometimes with fashion and putting together an outfit outside of your routine uniform, it means putting together pieces you wouldn’t think would go together. Utilizing different textures and fabrics within the same look adds interest and depth. We are loving this look styled with a chunky knit sweater and lovely emerald skirt. While it may not be instinctual to have these two items together, you can see these opposites really play off each other in creating a cohesive look. If you’re trying out this trend for the first time, keeping each piece in the same color family may help add some comfort and congruence. Too cold for bare legs? Add some tights or a neutral sock and you are weather-ready!

Top Coat

Need a quick style elevation? Look no further than a little fur trim. The (Faux) fur trim trend is definitely one we can get behind. It is commonly thought that fashion tends to repeat itself, and fur accents + details are no exceptions. Find it on this luxurious Traffic People coat, dangling from your tote bag or purse, and even lining the hood of your favorite puffer jacket- this subtle statement helps with staying warm, adding interest, all while remaining classy.

Make A Day of It

We hear it all the time – “I’m not a hat girl.” Or “I can ONLY wear skinny jeans.” Or “I just don’t want to draw attention to myself.” We understand having a reliable uniform and we understand the comforting feeling of wardrobe staples and go-to’s. In fact, they are an incredibly important part of building personal style. At the same time, its also easy to box ourselves into a comfort zone and start giving ourselves fashion rules that let us get away with self-deprecating thoughts and mantras. At Minx, we love gently encouraging our customers, and OURSELVES, to try something they never have (or have before and weren’t feeling at the time!) and start challenging these self-imposed fashion rules with empowerment being the ultimate goal. So –  toss on a hat, try out a bold print, or come grab that white button-down you’ve been eyeing that will always fit just right. Either way – we are here and we are in your corner!

Mosaic

The Minxies are loving unexpected layering pieces this season- like these Neuw Denim Overalls. Gone are the days of only associating overalls with memories of romping around in the garden as children or painting your kitchen walls the perfect shade of salmon. Here we have paired these dark-wash overalls with a simple white long sleeve and black ankle booties from Frye. What really ties the entire look together is this Tracy Reese Overcoat, adding interest and warmth without completely over-shadowing the understated foundation. And can we take a minute to completely process how beautiful this Matt + Nat Crossbody bag is?! For those who have never crossed paths with this glorious brand- all of their pieces are made from 100% recycled materials. This vegan line puts an entirely new spin on what it means to be ethical and, still, incredibly fashionable and timeless. Sometimes it pays off to stick your nose out and see if there are any new spins on well-loved classics like overalls and leather accessories. You may just be surprised!

A Thousand Miles

In some cases, having a go-to outfit for a night out on the town can make the difference between saying ‘yes’ to that invitation or politely having to decline (No judgment from us, we’ve all been there!) We feel that fashion should never stand in the way of spending time with loved ones and creating memories. We love the combination of classic, neutral tones while playing with different fabrics and silhouettes. Keeping colors neutral and easy-to-pair makes creating an outfit effortless without sacrifice your personal creativity or style. It’s no secret that accessories can help elevate any look and that’s exactly what we have done here. When you have pieces in your wardrobe that speak to your personal style and remain timeless & classic, there is no need for a rain check!
